The Society held a very successful Spring Show on Sunday 7 April in the Jubilee Hall at Upper Halling, with a gorgeous array of spring blooms, tasty cookery dishes, and craft items.  In all there were 212 entries from 23 adult exhibitors and 2 children, with certificates for each of the 53 classes.   Enthusiastic member Nigel Dyer carried off the 'Best in Show' Award for his exhibits.  Next Show is Sunday 1 September as the Summer Show, for which the Schedule is on the website.

IN MEMORY

PETER LINGHAM

The Committee of the Society is saddened to hear of the passing of local farmer Peter Lingham in January.  Peter was a stalwart of the Society, instrumental in setting it up forty-seven years ago  in 1977, and he became its first President, holding the office  for many years.  He was a magnificent fund-raiser for the building of the Jubilee Hall in Upper Halling and served the community for many years as a parish councillor. Peter was the third generation of the Lingham family farming at Court Farm, going back to 1871, and with two further generations following him. The Society sends  its condolences to the Lingham family, who can be proud of the wonderful contribution Peter made to the Halling  community.
